The Devotion: Ephesians 5:25-27

Hey Family,
The tone all week has been getting “prepared” for school. 🏫
I realize many young people have never learned to use an iron. 😳
Over the years the clothing industry has designed permanent press clothes 👚 and wrinkle-free dryer sheets.😂. But…I can remember having to iron my clothes the night before school and lay out my outfit! 👚👖(sometimes we would even “spray starch” our blouses) Mother said we didn’t have time in the morning for all that.
The Good news today is the Holy Spirit who The Father sent at Jesus’ request helps us lay out our clothes for the day! The Book of Ephesians 📖 tells us to be continually filled with the Spirit. It also lets us know that God will wash us through the watering of the Word of God! To prepare His Bride without spot or “wrinkle”!
That’s right we had to wash the clothes, dry the clothes and then starch and iron them! (Best to iron fresh out the dryer) Today I will allow The Lord to cleanse me with His Word. I invite Him to “blow the wind” of the Spirit on the “dampened” 5places of my soul. To apply “a little heat” and iron out my “wrinkled” earth suit! 🌍 ☺️ Let him work on your earth suit today!
❤️ Doc
Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish.
