The Devotion: John14:26

The Devotion: John14:26

Good morning family and friends,
Yesterday I headed to school for teacher professional development and to get my office in order for the school year. It was good to see some folks I hadn’t seen in a bit.
In one session we broke into groups in the room and the voices of everyone speaking at one point got so loud you could hardly hear the individual from our group who was sharing his thoughts.
I believe there are times the Father wants to speak to us, but we hear the voices of many others so loud in our head that we cannot discern His still soft voice.
Here are some ways I listen for the voice of God: (FYI we actually hear with our brain!) Find a quiet place, and or make space in your head by turning off and tuning out distractions.
Read through devotion, and search the scripture for verses mentioned or ones that come to your mind as you read. You can do this with worship songs as well. Search for the verses mentioned, or that come to mind, look them up, write them, down and ask the Holy Spirit to give you clarity.
The rest of the day I listen for reinforcements of that verse. This is just one way to listen for God’s voice! Listen for it, Search for it, Write ✍🏾 it down and say it out loud!
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
