The Routine of “Rest” Throughout the gospels we read where speaking of Jesus…he went away to pray “as was His custom”. This habit of prayer” enabled the “Son of God” to be fortified for the next day of “fleshing out” His Kingdom purpose on earth.” The Creator of the universe left His throne in Glory to relate to our daily story. 🙌🏾 we all need to follow His example and have a “routine of rest”.
In Genesis 1, we can note, when God finished putting things in place…He rested. The 8th day it was a new beginning and 🎶🎼 A whole new world! 🌎 the very principles of nature teach us We must Rest to be Refreshed!
The writer of much of the New Testament Paul, learned the importance of the routine of rest and the role it plays in renewal.
Paul used athletes agriculture and the army to share with us many of life’s disciplines. 🪖⛹🏽♀️🌺
Athletes need rest to refresh ⛹🏽♀️. Trained soldiers need rest to make decisions and to be strengthened in battle 🪖. Plants🪴have “seasons” of rest to “spring forth in beauty.” So as we go into this weekend let’s follow the “Master’s” Routine of Rest.
“And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. And as was his custom, he went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and he stood up to read.” Luke 4:16 ESV 📖
“And he came out and went, as was his custom, to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples followed him.” 🧎🏾♀️Luke 22:39 ESV
Have a great weekend! ❤️ Doc
